Bye Bye…Tears at the End of a Playdate

Today Kate had a playdate with Woolfie and Jake in the park. We found a nice patch of grass in Prospect Park under a tree and let the babies crawl around. Woolfie and Jake are both within a few weeks of Kate in age.

Jake showed off his advanced standing skills. He's able to stand up from a sit and balance! Kate hasn't tried that trick yet. Woolfie showed off his "busy" skills as he busily got into everything. His mom Miranda has her hands full.

When the playdate was over and Jake left with his mom, Chloe, Kate burst into tears. It was heartbreaking! She was saying "Bye bye" and crying, until Woolfie stepped in to distract her. I have never seen her cry when anyone other than I left. It was a touching moment, and showed just how much she likes Jake. I guess when she kissed him today that should have tipped us off, but then to cry when he left ... that's an advanced move. It was really sweet.
