Picante
Tuesday, February 27th, 2007Kate is developing a more nuanced use of words. She can say "hot" and "cold" to mean either food temperature or ambient temperature. When we open the back door she'll say "cold", and if the oven is on, she'll try to touch it and say "hahhhh-t. If she is presented with hot food, she'll bend over her plate, say "hot" and blow on it.
Today she was eating Mexican food and shoveling in hot salsa and chips, due to her dipping aptitude and a desire for anything with flavor. Once she got a little ahead of herself, she gave me a surprised look and asked for "ice." The Mexican waiters were impressed that this very white child could down their spicy salsa without hesitation.
