Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Subtracting?

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

Today Kate did something that shocked me. She can subtract. She was eating mac and cheese, and I said, "Five more bites and then you can get up." I gave her a bite, and said, "That's one bite. How many are left?" "Four," she said. She took another bite. "That's two bites, how many are left?" I asked. "Three." She took another bite. "That's three bites, how many are left?" "Two."

Is that possible? She is not even three.

Isabel learned cooperative mess making the other day. We were in a restaurant waiting for a friend, and there was a stack of magazines that Kate was rearranging. Isabel decided to help her, and handed Kate magazines one by one to put in the pile. It was really cute to see them playing together!

Nite Nite and Big Girl Food

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

This week Isabel started saying "nite nite" and eating real solid food. She now loves banana chunks, when she hated the jarred banana stuff. She eats puffs, cheerios, bread, pizza crusts and noodles. She is finding the new stuff far more palatable than the purees. I think she just hated the texture. She also learned to shake her head no, so she looks like a crazy person shaking her head no all the time. She does it and starts laughing! It is really cute.
