Tushies Gel-Free Diapers Disappoint

Tushies Since I loved the Tushies Tendercare diapers so much, I was excited to try another product by Tushies, the Gel-Free Diaper. Rather than having the crystals or gel inside the diaper, these are stuffed with cotton, kind of like the gDiapers lining. However, little things ruined the execution for me.

The very first Tushies Gel-Free Diaper I used, I ruined within a minute. These diapers are secured with old fashioned tape, and I didn't realize that because I had diaper cream on my hands, when I touched the tape, it lost its sticky, permanently. I tried to make it work, I tried adding regular scotch tape, and I even tried just holding it on and putting the clothes on, to no avail. I had to put that diaper aside. I think I can put it in a gDiaper cover and use it that way, so I haven't tossed it yet. Then, I got out a second diaper, and couldn't believe it when I ruined that one too, same problem. Before putting on the third one, I learned my lesson and wiped my hands. It stayed put, but I didn't dare adjust it for fear it would lose its stick again.

I don't mind that you have to change these diapers more frequently, and I have to admit, Isabel has NO diaper rash whatsoever with these. I can't say that for any of the others I have tried. However, in addition to the tabs losing their stickiness (three diapers out of the pack so far, and we're only halfway through), these diapers have leaked a few times. Apparently, a two hour nap is too long to go without a diaper change, and ditto for overnight. These diapers just aren't sufficient for that much wetness. I also noticed they are not great about wicking away wetness, it kind of stays on her skin and it gets that wrinkly in the tub too long appearance.

Now I'm just hoping I can get through this pack. I won't be buying these again, I'll stick with the Tushies Tendercare diapers.
