Sick Again!

I can't believe Kate, Joel and I are getting sick again. We traveled over Christmas weekend, and the plane ride back was incredibly hot. They were pumping the grossest heated air throughout the cabin, and I'm sure it was a germ festival. Needless to say, three days later we're all coming down with cold symptoms. I have a stuffy nose and sore throat. Kate is whining a lot. Joel has the same symptoms I do. I really hate cold and flu season.
To top it off, it was rainy and cool here in New York City, so we didn't venture out much today. With no sunshine to speak of, it doesn't help us feel any better.
Our Christmas was a blast, we had a great time in Kansas. The kids all got a lot of toys from Santa, and once again, Joel played Santa. It was hysterical, he's such a jokester. He's kind of like the dirty Santa, constantly cracking jokes that are above the kids' heads. Santa was very nice to Kate, bringing her an array of Peek-A-Round and Peek-A-Block toys. So far she seems to love them, but most of all, she loves the Discovery Ball by Leap Frog. She's 4 1/2 months now, and she can make it play music with little effort. She will spin the ball back and forth over and over again, she thinks it's divine. She also received another Baby Einstein video, this one about water. She squeals so much during this show that I at times think she's upset until I see the big laughing smile on her face. We have nicknamed the Baby Einstein videos "baby crack" in our household. It's amazing the effect they have on the little ones.

My plan to turn her into a marine biologist is well underway. Just 20 more years until she's got the ability to let me into the shark cage for free.
