Boysenberry MOVES!

Yesterday I had my 9/10 week visit at the OB, and got to see this lovely picture of Boysenberry. What you can't see in this picture is that, unlike last visit, Boysenberry jumps around like a jumping bean, kicking, rolling, swimming...it's amazing. This is a freeze frame, and boysenberry has a lot of energy.
As for the pregnancy scare, all seems well. The bleeding stopped after last Friday (11 days ago) and the doctor said he doubted I would have any more. Boysenberry is measuring a week ahead of the expected size, so maybe the due date is off by a week. So far everyone seems healthy.
In two weeks, we start phase one of the genetic counseling/testing. We are having a nuchal translucency test done, in which they measure the size of the pocket of fluid on the back of the baby's neck using an ultrasound. We're also meeting with a genetic counselor to determine our risk for having a baby with down's syndrome as well as a host of other problems. We got pretty good news with Kate, so I'm not too worried about this. The only difference is I'm two years older and that increases our risk. Once we have this test and the rest of the quad screening, we can determine if we will go for the amnio or cvs. I'm hoping the tests show no need to proceed with those invasive tests, but we'll see.
Kate is doing well, too. She is adding words to her vocabulary at an astounding rate and she chatters constantly! Yesterday I took her sledding in our first New York snowfall, and she loved it so much that this morning when I woke up she brought me her snowboots and her snowsuit so she could go again. Unfortunately, the snow had mostly melted, so we didn't get to sled this time, but I did bundle her up and take her out to make snow angels and snowballs, which she found hysterical. Afterwards, we came in to warm up and enjoy her favorite dish, maroni (that's macaroni for those of you unfamiliar with toddler-ease).
This afternoon, after she finishes her much needed nap, we are heading out to French class, which is the highlight of her week. I'm not sure how much longer I can haul the stroller up the stairs on the subway, I have a little oxygen thief who makes me huff and puff at stairs again. In addition, Kate is putting on weight, making it all around more and more difficult. I'll keep it up as long as I can, though, and maybe by the time I can no longer do it, she can walk up and down the stairs better and we can come up with an alternate plan.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.
