3D Ultrasound at 28 Weeks

I thought this ultrasound was amazing, so I had to post it right away. The bubbly thing in front of her face is the umbilical cord, not a binky! Although, if she is anything like Kate, it will be replaced with a binky right away upon entry into the outside world. I know they are sisters, but I still find it surprising how much she resembles Kate. I think she has Joel's nose.

As for me, I am doing healthy and well. The nurse was sick today, so I didn't have my diabetes test. I'll have it next time, I don't appear to have any symptoms anyway. The baby is healthy, and I got to see her tummy, which was full of amniotic fluid. The ultrasound tech said that was actually a good thing, that it means she is swallowing, a skill which will come in handy when she needs to eat! Her heartbeat was strong, and she was moving around quite a bit. My belly is as hard as a rock, it is so weird to feel. I wish my abs were this rock solid when not pregnant! Boysenberry has been kicking quite a bit, and she is breech, so lucky for me I get all the kicks down low towards my bladder. I think her right punch is getting strong, though, because my ribs are getting a little sore too.

My next appointment is in three weeks, and after that, every two weeks. Kate was kind enough to snooze through my whole appointment, which made it pleasant.

Afterwards, Kate and I went to the Gap to shop. I bought some maternity/nursing bras and a shirt, and Kate got three shirts. The funniest thing about the trip was that Kate has turned into an opinionated fashionista. I had picked up six shirts for her while she napped, and when she woke up I asked her which ones she liked. She insisted on getting to try them on, so we got a dressing room and had a fashion show. The ones she liked were met with "Cute, cute cute. I like it!" The ones she didn't approve of were tossed aside with a "No!" Of course, she hated the shirts that were on sale for $5, and instead went with the full priced tops. Little stinker.
